Tree swings and the gear that hangs them

Tree swings built for the back yard

We make tree swings and the hanging gear to mount them. Riders grow by pounds before they grow by years, so we put a weight limit on 21 of our 23 listings before anything else.

Three riding stances

We make swings you stand on, swings you sit on, and seats with a harness for toddlers.

Rated by weight

Our weight limits run from 50 pounds up to 300 pounds across the range.

Cut from maple

We shape decks and discs from maple and bamboo, alongside molded seats and belt swings.

Hanging gear included

Straps, brackets, and rope sit in their own section so you can rig any branch.

What we hold to

Real deck woods

We cut 5 of our decks and discs from maple and bamboo, and the rest of the seats we mold.

Built for weather

We mold plastic seats, weave outdoor rope, and use metal hardware designed to hang through sun and rain.

Clear weight numbers

We print exact weight limits up to 300 pounds directly on our listings rather than guessing by age.

Pick the swing in three moves

Stance first, weight second, branch third. In that order it takes a minute.

Three moves

  1. Choose whether the rider wants to stand on a board, sit on a disc, or buckle into a harnessed seat.
  2. Match the weight of the rider against the limit shown on the listing, up to 300 pounds.
  3. Measure your tree branch thickness and ground clearance before picking straps or hanging brackets from our gear section.

Not sure which stance suits the rider? The fit finder walks the same three questions and shows what is left.

Hanging gear is left out of this table on purpose. Straps and brackets carry more than any seat, and that number belongs to the hardware, never to the deck under your feet.

A molded plastic shell cradles babies and toddlers for their very first swings in the yard or inside the house. We pair the curved bucket with soft braided rope and an adjustable fabric harness. It sets up under a sturdy branch, on a swing set beam, or from a ceiling joist in the playroom.

Keeping a swing hanging for years

Wood, rope and molded seats all last outdoors. What shortens them is neglect, not weather.

Worth doing

  • Wipe maple and bamboo decks dry with a cloth after heavy rainfall to keep the wood clean.
  • Check hanging rope periodically for surface wear where it loops over the branch or hardware.
  • Wash molded plastic seats with mild soap and water to clear off dirt and garden debris.
  • Inspect metal hanging brackets and carabiners for grit or surface rust before each summer season.

Not worth it

  • Do not leave wooden decks sitting face down in wet grass or standing yard puddles.
  • Do not hang rope directly over sharp metal edges that can cut into the braided line.
  • Do not drag molded seats across concrete or gravel paths when moving them across the yard.
  • Do not spray harsh solvent cleaners onto grip tape, braided rope, or plastic parts.

Making tree swings for every back yard branch

We design and build swings for the trees outside your door. From stand-up maple decks to toddler bucket seats, we focus on materials, rope strength, and rated capacities. We build the gear so families can hang a swing from a sturdy limb and ride.

We organize our catalog into 5 sections based on how someone rides: standing, sitting, harnessed, or the hardware needed to hang them. Listings range from 50 pounds up to 300 pounds, giving clear mechanical specs for every back yard setup.

  • Our weight ratings run from 50 pounds to 300 pounds, and the top of that span belongs to hanging gear rather than to a seat.
  • Stand-up decks are rated to 200 pounds, and only 2 of them are cut from maple; the rest are molded or pressed.
  • We cut or mold seats from 7 different materials, 5 of the decks and discs being wood.
  • The earliest seat we make starts at 9 months, and the oldest starting age we print is ages 6 and up.
  • 4 of the seats and decks state a width, and it runs from 18 to 40 inches.
  • 7 of the listings are hanging gear rather than a seat, and 2 of those mount to a swingset frame instead of a branch.

Where to start

If you know the rider weight, filter the listings to find compatible decks, discs, or belts immediately. If you are starting fresh, check the height and diameter of your tree branch to choose the right straps and brackets first.

What riders say

Public reviews left on the listings, quoted as written. We pick them, we do not solicit them.

I searched high and low for a baby swing for months. There are so many out there to choose from. I ended up buying the Swurfer swing because of the excellent reviews. The reviews were not wrong. It was so easy to install, the plastic is thick and good quality. The shape is unique and looks a little mid century. We put a blanket on the seat just to cushion it a bit and my granddaughter loves it and asks to swing almost every day.

NoraOB on Swurfer Coconut - Your Child's First Swing with Soft Braided…

My daughter was her regular swing as on of these and decided to upgrade it. This is much more fun, it's easier to her a grip on and it keeps spinning. It is well made and it comes with a long, heavy duty cord. I had to use my existing cord because the branch is hanging onto is way up and I'm not brave enough to climb up there again. Is easy to install to any solid branch or to anything tall enough to clear the kids height.

Walt g. on Swurfer Ninja Twister Swing Spins Set

Swapped out a strap swing for a stand up surfer and this was perfect. Heavy duty well made parts, easy to read and understand (slightly snarky 😆) instructions. Fair warning though, make sure to drill good and straight thru your beam. Any deviation will transfer right to the angle of the swing. Had a bugger of a time fixing our mistake, but in the end we got it and our girl was "surfing" like a champ!
